Bentley ownership is great until you notice every single imperfection
I've had my Continental GT for about eighteen months now and honestly, it's been an absolute dream to drive, but there's this one thing that's been slowly driving me up the wall and I'm wondering if any other owners here can relate to what I'm talking about. The paint on these cars is just so incredibly rich and deep that it shows absolutely everything, and I mean everything, from the tiniest dust particle to the faintest swirl mark that catches the light in a certain way. I take really good care of it, hand wash only with premium products, microfiber towels that cost more than some people's weekly groceries, but somehow I still end up with these annoying micro-marring marks that seem to appear out of nowhere, especially on the darker panels. I've been going back and forth on whether to get a full correction done because part of me thinks I'm being too obsessive and the car looks fine to anyone who isn't staring at it from two inches away with a torch, but then another part of me just wants it to look as flawless as the day I drove it off the showroom floor. The problem is that I'm really nervous about handing over such an expensive car to just any detailing shop because I've heard horror stories about inexperienced guys going too aggressive with the polisher and burning through clear coat or leaving holograms that are worse than the original imperfections. I did some digging around and found a place that specializes in high-end vehicles and offers what they call Genuine Bentley finishing and detailing in Musaffah Shabiya, which sounds promising because they apparently use the same products and techniques that the factory recommends for these specific paint types. I'm particularly interested in whether they can sort out a couple of deeper scratches I have on the rear bumper that I think came from someone brushing past it in a parking lot, because I've tried polishing them out by hand with limited success and I'm worried they might be too deep for anything other than wet sanding. Also, I'm curious about the interior side of things because the leather in the Continental is so soft and supple that it picks up wear pretty quickly, and I'd love to get the driver's seat and the steering wheel looking as close to new as possible without replacing anything. Has anyone here had experience with getting their Bentley professionally detailed in Abu Dhabi, and if so, did you find that the results were worth the investment and lasted a decent amount of time? I'm not expecting miracles or for the car to stay perfect forever, but I'd love to get it back to a baseline where I can actually maintain it properly without fighting against years of accumulated defects.
